The ¼ Oz 2022 gold British Britannia coin is a bullion coin with a classic minimalist design. The front of the coin bears a modern design of the image of Queen Elizabeth II. The queen is depicted wearing a state diadem on the right profile. The name of the monarch and the face value are also engraved on the obverse. The initials “D.G.REG.F.D.” also appear on the back. The surface of the coin is engraved with a pattern that gives it a porous-look. The designer’s signature “JC” appears below the queen’s portrait on the obverse.

The back of 1/4 Oz 2022 Gold British Britannia coin bears a modern British version of the statue of liberty (Lady Britannia). She is depicted wearing a flowing gown with a trident on her right and a union shield with an olive branch on her left. She is wearing head gear donned by the knights. The front of the coin is inscribed with the country of origin, the year the coin was manufactured, the weight, and the purity level. The words “FINE GOLD” are written on the reverse.
