The 1 ounce 2023 gold buffalo coin is a bullion coin with a traditional theme and a fine finish. The front bears the image of an American bison. The front is also inscribed with the country of origin, the face value, the weight, and the fineness level. The words “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “IN GOD WE TRUST” are also inscribed on the obverse.
The reverse is engraved with the image of a Native American chief wearing a feather crown that symbolizes his status. The reverse is also inscribed with the year of manufacture and the word “LIBERTY.”
