The reverse bears the image of the iconic red kangaroo and a young joey hopping across Australian plains. The years of manufacturer, weight, and finer levels are also inscribed on the front.

Gold Kangaroo coins are a product of the Perth Mint founded in Western Australia. The original building stands as a landmark on Hay Street to date.
