Beautifully designed and newly released 2023 Somalian Elephant coins. These coins are issued annually by the government of Somalia and are manufactured by the Bavarian State Mint. Originally released in 2004, these coins are currently in their 19th year of production. The coin is part of the 'African Wildlife' series, which also features the African Leopard coin. 

The front of each coin features the words 'Somali Republic' at the top. In the center of the coin is the Somalian coat of arms, which consists of a shield, and a leopard holding it on either side. A single star sits in the center of the shield. To the left and the right of the image is the coin's year of minting, and the bottom of the coin features its face value of 1000 Somali Shillings.

The reverse side of each coin features an African Elephant grabbing leaves off of a branch with his trunk. He is standing in the Savannah, with the sun glaring down on him, and a Baobab tree standing in the distance. Encircling the coin are the words 'African Wildlife' and 'Elephant', and the coin's weight, metal type, and purity can also be found on the outside of the coin. These coins have a purity of 9999, making them 24-karat gold coins. These coins are supplied in a plastic slip.
